1. i have a engine block heater now iam confused to were it go's on the heater block its self or the oil pan?

If your engine block is iron and not aluminum, it can be attached to the block. If the engine block is not iron it has to be attached to the oil pan. I am assuming the heater is magnetic

2. My car's block heater broke, and the temp is -50c. Is my car gonna be OK?

good thinking uthockey also you should remove your radiator cap

3. What's the relation between a block heater and a remote car starter?

A block heater is what you plug into the outlet overnight and that will keep your vehicle kind of warm so it starts easily on cold mornings. A remote starter can start your car remotely without having to go out and start it manually with the key. Hope this helps!

4. Honda Civic 2014 EX Block Heater

I hate to tell you this, but any 12/3 extension cord (15A or better) will do what you need. I see nothing there which you need anything special to get your block heater attached to AC power. I grew up in a cold environment (Northern Rockies in Montana). All our cars had block heaters. We never had anything special beyond the male plug you've shown in the third picture to plug our cars in. Grab an extension cord and find out for yourself

5. Will an electric blanket work as a redneck replacement for an engine block heater?

Not really, engine block heater actually heats up the actual coolant. It may keep it somewhat warm but heated blankets usually dont get that hot anymore. Not enough to warm a metal engine block. The very old heated blankets would but not these newer versions wont

6. Do I need a block heater for 2010 toyota corolla?

Toyota Engine Block Heater

7. 7.8L Ford Engine Block heater and freeze plug do you have to take the freeze plug out of the block?

Are you for sure that it replaces a frost plug? I am asking because I just purchased a block heater for my Honda and it's threaded and a straight replacement of the drain bolt on the block. If yours is a frost plug type then yes you have to knock the plug out

8. Why would my engine block heater stop working in my Duramax?

Because it either needs replaced or you have a bad electrical connection or you do not have a heavy duty cord that can handle the juice for the heater. In this case , get a outdoor cord that is heavy duty and is strictly for outdoor use. I have a diesel and I have to follow thru with the same because those block heaters take quite a bit to operate and heat the block. Otherwise check your heater, i do not know if you can do a test on it like a kitchen stove element to find out if it works or not but try it. Otherwise it has to and can only be a bad connection. That's all I can tell about it as I have to do the same thing to my diesel also. That's just from experience. Why would my engine block heater stop working in my Duramax?

9. location of the block heater cord on a 2017 Ford Escape

It is probably back at your Ford dealer waiting to be installed.

10. 1999 Ford F-350 - Block Heater?

First are you sure it has a block heater? If so the best way to find it is to get under the truck and look for the freeze plugs on the sides of the engine block. One of the freeze plugs will be missing and in its place will be a plug with wires coming out of it. This will be your block heater. follow the wires to find the plug. Most do not have block heaters though

11. Where do I look to see if my car has a block heater?

You don't even put the make, year and model of the car. So my best advice is that if your car is red, look in the glove compartment; if silver, passenger side in trunk, green? Behind the radio.I used to write comedy these type posts bring me back decades. This can't be a real question but it is FUNNY.Have someone who knows cars like a mechanic look. He/she should know where to look based on what type car you have. There is also a service manual for each car NOT the "owners manual" that you got with the car but rather a book/program for each car with locations of each part. Why are you even looking for it? Ahhh how I wish I could hear the Car Talk Guys answer this one.Where do I look to see if my car has a block heater?.

My car's block heater broke, and the temp is -50c. Is my car gonna be OK?start it up and run it each day if possible to operating temp...itll be better than just letting it freeze up4. At what temp. should you use a block heater for your car?I think it depends on the vehicle. I have driven Mercedes diesels for years. I have one with 649K miles, and I have to plug it in at 20 degrees (F) or below, else it's not going to start. The other two have half or less the mileage, and most of the time I never plug them in at all. About the coldest it gets here is 15 (F) or so normally, so I do not have the extreme temps some people have. Years ago I had an Olds 98 diesel and a Cadillac Fleetwood diesel, and never plugged in either one, and they always started. My old '89 F250 Ford pickup had to be plugged in around 20 degrees F, otherwise it had difficulty starting, too. Just depends on how the engine acts when it's cold. Some just do better than others. I've had several diesel farm tractors, never had one that even had a block heater on it, never had a lot of trouble. I drive a tractor-trailer part-time, one day a week, and we've never used a block heater on it, either. Again, just depends on the individual engine, and the temps you have. Just experiment with it. It wo not hurt anything to leave it plugged in. PS - I would LOVE to hear an explanation from the moron who gave that thumbs-down on this one.5. Where is the block heater hole on a 2012 Camry Hybrid XLE?the factory uses an existing freeze plug hole. on the side of the block. if this has an I4, remove the freeze plug under the intake on the side of the block. not the exhaust side. keeping the heater and wires away from excessive heat if possible. if it has a V6, either bank is fine. exhaust heat will be present on either side of the engine.6.
