Why Does White Colour of Plastic Products in India Turn Yellow in Couple of Years?

Many natural and synthetic polymers are attacked by ultraviolet radiation, and products using these materials may crack or disintegrate if they are not UV-stable. The problem is known as UV degradation, and is a common problem in products exposed to sunlight. Continuous exposure is a more serious problem than intermittent exposure, since attack is dependent on the extent and degree of exposure. Defragmentation of molecular bonds leads to the polymer unstable and turns white into yellow colour. Why does white Colour of plastic products in India turn yellow in couple of years?

1. BPA news, where to find bottles....???

I agree! It's not easy to find the BPA-free bottles and sippy cups. I've been looking into it myself and here's what I've learned. They have the best selection and you can even register there. All items below are safe - toxin-free: Glass Baby Bottles: -Dr. Brown's - (out of stock at most places until June 1st) -WeeGo bottle by babylife -Evenflo glass bottles -BornFree plastic bottles Sippy Cups: -BornFree sippy cups -SIGG water bottles (for kids) -Boon sippy cup -Klean Kanteen water bottles Due to the large push in this direction, many manufacturers are back-ordered for these products. But they should start filling orders within the next two weeks. Here's some info about BPA - As many parents know, plastic bottles have come under a lot of scrutiny due to reports about toxins like Bisphenol-A (BPA). Why? BPA is a chemical compound sometimes found in plastic products, cosmetics and foods. Recent studies suggest links between BPA and developmental problems, mainly reproductive issues and carcinogenic effects (e.g., cancers). BPA has been found to leach from plastic into food and liquids. Phthalates, chemicals used to soften plastics, are also a concern right now. The substance is commonly used in plastic baby bottles, soft baby books and other toys intended for infants and toddlers. Some scientists say it interferes with hormones and can lead to early puberty, reproductive defects and other health problems. Green tip: Look for BPA-free labeling on plastic bottle, like Born Free, or use glass baby bottles. Popular green options include glass bottles by Babylife and Evenflo.

2. Do you need FDA approval for selling plastic products?

Only if you manufacture it

3. Why plastic products manufactured in china?

China has unbelievably cheap labor. Owners of the means of production have moved to outsource jobs/production as much as possible to China for manufacturing. They then bring the products back into their local market areas, and sell those products at local market prices as if local labor was used and expensed. They thereby take the value of the difference of that labor between China and local labor pools for their own profit usually with the blessing and sometimes aid from governments.

4. Should the United States manufacture paper & plastic products made from hemp instead of manufacturing and potentially destroying the Earth slowly?

Should the United States manufacture paper & plastic products made from hemp instead of manufacturing and potentially destroying the Earth slowly?I do not know.Paper is made largely from farmed trees. It may take a decade or more for a tree to grow to harvest, but the tree farms are set up for that and have already been running for a century or more. Hemp grows faster, but the hemp plantations do not exist yet. Unfortunately, the marijuana farms do not grow the plants in a way to maximize fiber quality and quantity, so we would have to plant lots of new farms.I can not help but think that historically cotton and flax make higher quality paper than wood. Now, they are relegated to high quality, high durability paper (like US currency), and not general purpose paper. Why would I expect hemp paper to succeed where rag paper has failed?Should the United States manufacture paper & plastic products made from hemp instead of manufacturing and potentially destroying the Earth slowly?

5. Which fossil fuel is the source for plastic products?

Petroleum is most often used but any could be used but would take much more work

6. how is plastic made? 10 POINTS IF YOU ANSWER CORRECTLY!?

1. Petroleum is drilled and transported to a refinery. 2. Crude oil and natural gas are refined into ethane, propane, hundreds of other petrochemical products and, of course, fuel for your car. 3. Ethane and propane are "cracked" into ethylene and propylene, using high-temperature furnaces. 4. Catalyst is combined with ethylene or propylene in a reactor, resulting in "fluff," a powdered material (polymer) resembling laundry detergent. 5. Fluff is combined with additives in a continuous blender. 6. Polymer is fed to an extruder where it is melted. 7. Melted plastic is cooled then fed to a pelletizer that cuts the product into small pellets. 8. Pellets are shipped to customers. 9. Customers manufacture plastic products by using processes such as extrusion, injection molding, blow molding, etc.
